Bison double-up the Lasers, 4-2

DUDLEY, Mass. – The Nichols College baseball team defeated Lasell College 4-2 in non-conference action Tuesday afternoon at the Nichols Baseball Field.
 
This was the first opportunity the Bison have had to play at the Nichols Baseball Field this season.
 
Sophomore Tyler Crane (East Amherst, N.Y.) earned his first win of the season after allowing just one run on three hits while striking out three batters through five innings of work. The Bison bullpen consisting of four pitchers – junior Jackson White (South Dartmouth, Mass.), sophomore Chris Dipilato (Worcester, Mass.), freshman Brodie Altiere (North Adams, Mass.), and junior closer Kevin Kirley (Clinton, Mass.) – held the Lasers to just one run on a pair of hits while striking out four and not registering a walk through the final four frames. Kirley earned his third save of the season.
 
Junior Nick Roy (Middletown, Conn.) finished 3-for-4 with three runs scored while freshman Christian Naccari (Ossining, N.Y.) drove in a pair of runs on his two-hit afternoon.
 
Five different student-athletes made up the five hits for Lasell as sophomore Greg Camarda (Massapequa, N.Y.) had a hit and a run scored. Sophomore Andre Marchesseault (Cheshire, Conn.) added the other run for the Lasers in the eighth inning on a single by classmate David Marsell (Baldwinsville, N.Y.).
 
The two team's combined for nine errors on the afternoon – while the Bison had a season-high five errors.
 
The Bison got things started in the first inning as senior Tim Ford (Stafford Springs, Conn.) was able to bring home Roy on a SAC-bunt. The Lasers answered back with a run of their own two innings later with Camarda scoring on a single through the right side by senior Brandon Valentin (Meriden, Conn.).
 
Nichols then added another run in the fifth inning and two more in the seventh to take a 4-1. The Lasers were only able to scratch one more run across as the Bison bullpen shut the door.

The Bison have now defeated the Lasers in five-straight meetings and lead the all-time series at, 5-3.
