Ewing, N.J. - The Farmingdale State baseball team traveled to #19 The College of New Jersey for a non-conference game on Tuesday afternoon and fell, 15-2. The Rams now stand at 14-12, while the Lions improved to 16-6.

After the first two TCNJ batters reached base in the bottom of the first, junior shortstop Zachary Shindler (Wantagh, N.Y.) put the Lions on the board with an RBI double to center. Two batters later, junior right fielder Mike Follet (Marlton, N.J.) singled to right, scoring Shindler and increasing the lead to 3-0. After scoring a run on a wild pitch, sophomore left fielder Matt Giacose (Wyckoff, N.J.) hit a 2 RBI double to right center to put the Lions in front, 6-0. TCNJ added the final run of the inning on a wild pitch to take a 7-0 advantage after one.

Leading 8-0 in the bottom of the fifth, RBI triples from both Thomas Persichetti (Hamilton, N.J.) and Shindler put the Lions ahead, 10-0.

The Rams scored their first run in the seventh on a pinch hit fielder's choice RBI by senior Dalton McCarthy (Manorville, N.Y.). A bases loaded walk to junior catcher Domenic Palumbo (Plainview, N.Y.) scored McCarthy and cut the deficit to 10-2.

TCNJ quickly responded with a four-run bottom of the seventh to take a 14-2 lead. The Lions plated the final run of the game in the eighth to cap off the 15-2 non-conference victory.

Junior left fielder Ryan Osborne (Westhampton Beach, N.Y.) recorded three of Farmingdale State's six hits and scored a run.

Shindler led the way for TCNJ after going 3-for-5 with a double, triple, two runs scored and 3 RBI. Freshman Max Guidice (Hillsborough, N.J.) earned the win after pitching seven innings, allowing two runs on four hits.

The Rams will now play host to Stevens on Wednesday, April 12th at 3:00 p.m.
