JACKSON, Miss. – No. 2 Birmingham-Southern baseball clinched its fourth consecutive Southern Athletic Association regular season title Friday with an 11-3 road win over Millsaps College. BSC (28-5, 15-1 SAA) will be the No. 1 seed in the upcoming tournament. They host the first rounds April 28-30.
Three Panthers had multi-hit games, but Tyler Hamel (Atlanta, Ga./Alpharetta HS) led all hitters. He went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a run. Ryan Gaines (Dunwoody, Ga./Dunwoody HS) picked up the win to improve to 8-0 on the year. Easton Fuller (Fairhope, Ala./Alexandria HS) earned his third save of the season after going three scoreless innings and striking out a game-high five batters.
The series concludes on Saturday in a doubleheader that begins at noon.
