NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Nichols College baseball team fell to Mitchell College 6-4 in non-conference action Wednesday afternoon at Alumni Field.

Sophomore Tyler Crane (East Amherst, N.Y.) took the loss after allowing five runs (all earned) on five hits through four innings of work. The Bison bullpen – consisting of freshmen Jack Dicenso (Norfolk, Mass.)Andrew Charbonneau (Berlin, Conn.), and Brodie Altiere (North Adams, Mass.) and sophomore Chris Dipilato (Worcester, Mass.) –dazzled once again as they only allowed one run on two hits through the final four innings to allow Nichols a chance to make a comeback.

Senior Axel De Jesus (Stratford, Conn.) started for the Mariners and allowed no runs on just one hit and three walks through four innings of work before giving way to sophomore Brian Ricker (Rocky Point, N.Y.) who picked up the win.

Trailing 6-0 heading into the eighth inning – the Bison were put on the board when Roy homered to left center field – bringing home Cook.  Later in the inning freshman Christopher Cerniglia (Monroe, N.J.) drove in classmate Christian Naccari (Ossining, N.Y.) to cut the lead in half.

Sophomore Andrew Doll (Plantation, Fla.) started the ninth inning with a single followed by a walk to sophomore Joe Assenza (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.). Following a SAC-bunt from Cook, Doll would score on on a fielder's choice from Roy. After a walk to senior Matt Hardy (North Attleboro, Mass.), freshman Kyle Bouchard (Fall River, Mass.) flew out to center to end the game and the comeback.
