MADISON, N.J. (April 20, 2017) – The Drew University baseball team scored three runs in the bottom of the ninth to erase a two-run deficit and walk off with a 5-4 win over Franklin & Marshall College at Doc Young Field on Thursday.
 
By the Numbers: The Rangers won a game in the ninth inning for the second straight night and improve to 18-11 on the year with a 6-8 mark at The Doc. The Diplomats, who have received votes this season in the D3baseball.com national poll, fall to 17-14-1.
 
Top Performers
• Sophomore starting pitcher Jendy Castillo and sophomore reliever Davis Fouts held F&M to two runs into the eighth inning. Castillo went five with five hits, three walks and the two runs to go with two strikeouts. Fouts pitched two scoreless innings with just one hit allowed and one strikeout.
• Senior center fielder Marc Cohen was 2-for-4 with a run scored, which was the tying run in the ninth.
• Freshman left fielder Max Felsenstein made the most of his new starting role with a solid line of 1-for-3, one walk, one run and one RBI. His run-scoring single in the second tied the game at 1-1, and his run won the game in the ninth on a wild pitch.
 
The Difference: Down 4-2 in the ninth, freshman Matthew Lange was called on to pinch hit to lead off the inning and delivered a single to start the eventual game-winning rally. Cohen's bunt single and Ryan Sabbag's sacrifice bunt put runners on second and third with one out.
 
Drew made it 4-3 by scoring on a wild pitch before sophomore shortstop Zach Lipshitz laid down a bunt to score Cohen, who slid just under the tag for the 4-4 tie. After a walk to load the bases, the second wild pitch of the inning allowed Felsenstein to score the walk-off run.
 
Highlights
• Drew tied it at 2-2 in the eighth on senior first baseman Tommy Broyles' sacrifice lineout to center field. The play scored Felsenstein, who reached on an error to lead off the inning. Lipshitz put down a sacrifice and senior third baseman Jonathan Rodrigues doubled down the right field like to set the stage for the game-tying run.
