BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Senior Francis Rapp (Baldwin, N.Y./Oceanside) delivered a two-out, bases-clearing single in the eighth to propel the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) baseball team to an 18-15 triumph over Lehman College on Friday afternoon at American Legion Field.

Rapp finished 2-for-6 with four RBI as both teams combined for 33 runs—matching an SJC record—and 35 hits in the three-and-a-half hour affair. The Lightning led 10-1 after three and the Bears took the lead in the fifth, but fell behind in the top of the eighth and scored six runs in the bottom half with two outs for the difference.

• The Lightning scored five runs in the first and four in the second before the Bears got on the board with a solo run in the second on a Kevin Linitz bases-loaded single, but an inning ending double-play ended the threat.
• Trailing 10-1 to start the bottom of the fourth, the Bears first seven batters reached successfully via walks or singles and back-to-back RBI-singles from Nicholas LoPrinzi and John Condon highlighted a six-run frame.
• St. Joseph's picked up four more in the fifth receiving RBI singles from Connor Pasetti, Condon and Michael Camerada—Camerada's two-out single putting SJC on top for the first time, 11-10.
• Both squads matched for solo runs in the seventh. Anthony Camerada's RBI-grounder with runners at the corners put SJC back in the lead, 12-11.
• Despite seeing their first two batters retired in the eighth, the Lightning assembled a two-out rally and scored three runs to take their first lead of the game since the fifth.
• But the Bears erupted for six in the home half of the inning. Back-to-back singles by Luke Rehn and M. Camerada set the table and Linitz reached on a sacrifice fielders' choice to load the bases with no outs. Pasetti opened the scoring with a sacrifice fly. Later in the frame with the bases loaded and Francis Rapp facing a full count with two out and the runners moving, Rapp punched a single to right that cleared the bases and put SJC on top for good.

• Vincent Juliano earned the victory on the mound to improve to 2-3.
