Baruch to Play for CUNYAC Baseball Championship on Sunday

The Baruch College Bearcats defeated the Bloodhounds of John Jay College, 7-2, in the CUNYAC Baseball Championship winner's bracket contest on Saturday afternoon at the College of Staten Island.

The team advances to play on Sunday and need to only win one game against Staten Island to claim the title.

The visiting Bearcats, who are currently riding a season-high five-game winning streak, were led by Matt Fazio, who pitched a complete game (7 IP, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 9 K).

Edwin St. Hilaire starred at plate by batting 3-for-4.

St. Hilaire, Michael McGroartyDonovan Hunt and Gilberto Mendoza, Jr. each had an RBI to help even the team's season record to 17-17.
