YORK, Pa. -- James Kantner went 3 for 3 with three RBI, Anthony Lippy tossed a complete game and Elizabethtown's offense exploded for a 13-5 victory over Maritime (N.Y.), Friday, in an elimination game at the NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Regional.

The sixth-seeded Blue Jays, who earned their first national tournament victory since 2009, advance to another elimination game Saturday morning at 10 against the loser of Friday evening's Alvernia/Johns Hopkins game.

Kantner started the scoring with a single back through the box to score Mike Christy in the second. Frank Ragozzino and Kyle Fackler also drove in runs before the inning came to a close.

Lippy was given plenty of support, as the Blue Jays (28-16) pushed 10 runs across in the first four innings and scored at least one run in five straight between the second and the sixth.

Seventh-seeded Maritime, the Skyline Conference champion, answered Elizabethtown's three-run second with two in the third. Phil Russo collected a sacrifice fly and Antonio Diaz singled in another run.

Elizabethtown had another response, however. It turned three hits and two walks into three more runs for a 6-2 advantage. Kantner (single) and Fackler (walk) each picked up their second RBI of the game.

The flood gates would open in the fourth with the Blue Jays scoring four times for a comfortable 10-3 lead.

Nick Lorenz's double to the gap in right scored Christy and the very next hitter, Brian Portillo, hit a ground rule double to plate Lorenz. Ragozzino knocked in his second run of the game with a single to left center and scored on a wild pitch.

That was plenty enough for Lippy. The junior from Hanover registered his first career nine-inning complete game and struck out three to improve to 5-3 on the season and keep the Blue Jays alive.

For the second day in a row, Elizabethtown had the bats going, recording double-digit hits. Kantner led all Jays with three, while Christy, Lorenz, Portillo and Ragozzino each had two. Christy and Lorenz also scored three times.

Tommy Buckman was 3 for 4 with two runs scored and a run batted in for the Privateers, who were eliminated from the double-elimination tournament. Maritime fell to 10th-ranked Shenandoah, 5-3, on Thursday night.

Maritime starting pitcher Travis Bruinsma took the loss, giving up six runs --four earned-- on six hits in 2.2 innings. The bullpen labored through the final five innings, allowing eight hits and seven runs.
