How it Happened
• The Red Dragons got on the board first in the fourth inning as Garrett Heaton scored on an error.
• JHU responded in the bottom of the inning as Zach Jaffe led off the inning with a triple and scored on a sacrifice fly by Chris DeGiacomo.
• Cortland got right back in the lead in the fifth on an RBI by Heaton which scored Nate Budge, and the Red Dragons extended their lead to two runs in the sixth on an RBI by Budge. Josh Hejka came into relieve Alex Ross with two outs in the inning, and stranded the Cortland baserunners, getting Antonio Pragana to ground into a fielder's choice.
• DeGiacomo walked and Mike Smith was hit by a pitch in the bottom of the sixth to put runners on first and second for Alex Darwiche, who doubled to left to score DeGiacomo and bring JHU to within one at 3-2. Chris Festa then singled home Smith to tie the game.
• Cortland got two hits off Hejka in the top of the ninth, however, the righty got Mathew Personius to fly out to end the inning and keep the game tied at three.
Mike Ainsworth walked in the bottom of the ninth and was pinch run for by Bradley Parsons, but Parson would be stranded at first as the two teams would need extra innings to decide the game.
• Hejka retired the Red Dragons in order in the top of the tenth and Bowman stepped up to the plate to lead off the bottom of the inning and took the pitch by Frank Vesuvio over the right field wall to give the Blue Jays an exciting 4-3 win.
