AUBURNDALE, FL - The Benedictine University baseball team rallied to edge UW-La Crosse in Florida and improve to 1-1 on the spring trip.

UW-La Crosse scored a single run in each of the first two innings as the visiting team to nab a 2-0 lead after leaving the bases loaded in the second
Brandon Gipson reached on an error with one out in the bottom of the second
The next batter, D.J. Dillon, homered to tie the game
Benedictine took the lead for the first time in the fourth inning with a single run
Jack Surin reached on an error and moved to third on a single from Nicholas Lee
Gipson lifted a sacrifice fly to plate the go-ahead tally
Two more runs scored in the seventh as the advantage extended to 5-2
Dillon led off with a double and Brenden Norberg followed with a single
Norberg stole second and Jonathan Hodo, hitting third in the order, singled home both
UW-La Crosse scored twice in the eighth and had the tying run on base in the ninth but could not tie the game
The victory ended a three-game streak for UW-La Crosse

Marty Maves worked the final two innings to preserve the win
