AUBURNDALE, Fla.—Junior Eric Jaun (Loveland, Ohio) came through with a two-out, two-run single in the bottom of the ninth inning to help Babson College rally for a 7-6 win over Illinois Wesleyan University in non-conference baseball action on Friday afternoon at Lake Myrtle Park.

Babson, which has won three straight games, improves to 4-1 overall, while Illinois Wesleyan slips to 7-2 on the year.

Jaun, senior Ryan Arena (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.), juniors Brian McHale (Ramsey, N.J.) and Edward Lehr (Byram Township, N.J.) and sophomore Sean Harrington (Walpole, Mass.) all finished with two hits apiece for the Beavers. Harrington drove in three runs and fellow sophomore William Gallagher (Kingston, Mass.) earned the win with a shutout inning of relief.

Junior John Bosco (Carol Stream, Ill.), senior Gino Cavalieri (Western Springs, Ill.) and sophomore Nick Figus (Frankfort, Ill.) all had three hits and drove in a run for the Titans. First-year Hunter Simon (Verona, Ill.), who came on to start the ninth inning, fell to 2-1 on the year after giving up four runs on four hits while recording just one out.

Babson erased a 1-0 deficit in the bottom of third as McHale came around to score following a leadoff single, while Harrington drove in Lehr with a base hit to left. Illinois Wesleyan went back in front 3-2 in the top of the fourth though, as Cavalieri and junior Ben Manski (Green Oaks, Ill.) produced back-to-back RBI singles.

The Beavers pulled even again in the last of the sixth as senior Mark Webber (Norwell, Mass.) reached via catcher's interference and later raced home on a two-out wild pitch. Babson stranded a pair of runners in the seventh and the Titans went back on top with a three-run eighth that included an RBI double by Bosco and a pair of errors.

Gallagher worked around another error to start the top of the ninth, and the Babson offense came alive in its final at-bat. Lehr and Arena greeted Simon with back-to-back singles and came around to score on Harrington's one-out base hit back through the box to make it 6-5.

Sophomore Jake Oliger (Newtown, Conn.) doubled to put the go-ahead run in scoring position, and Jaun hit the first pitch he saw from Illinois Wesleyan senior Mitch Goll (Prairie View, Ill.) through the left side to give the Green and White its second walk off win in as many outings.

Junior Connor Gill (Sterling, Mass.) started and gave up three runs while striking out two in five innings for the Beavers. His counterpart, first-year Eric Bennes (Palatine, Ill.), struck out seven and allowed three runs in five innings for the Titans.

Both squads are back in action on Saturday as Babson takes on Hope in a doubleheader beginning at 5 p.m., while Illinois Wesleyan faces Suffolk at 9 a.m.
