TIFFIN, OHIO – Senior third baseman Hunter Lane (Nappanee, Ind.) and junior catcher Matt Pritz (LaPorte, Ind.) each produced two-hit contests Saturday, March 17, leading Manchester University in a weekend series opener.

Pritz' dish day included a home run, the second of his career, and a run-batted in, while Lane rapped a pair of singles off Student Prince pitching. Beyond those marks, sophomore first baseman Nick Rush (Terre Haute, Ind.) added a run-scoring double.

Those superlatives couldn't match up with a red-hot Heidelberg offense. The home side posted seven runs over the first four frames and didn't look back in route to a 10-2 victory. HU's pitching staff kept the potent Black and Gold offense at bay with 10 strikeouts between three hurlers.

The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference – Ohio Athletic Conference brace continues Sunday, March 18. A pair of nine-inning meetings begins at 12 p.m.
