The two-out magic ensued in WP's key five-run seventh inning. Freshman center fielder Steven DiGirolamo (Dumont, N.J./Dumont) caused some havoc on the bases to put WP up 3-2. After walking, Carter singled and as DiGirolamo rounded second he drew contact from St. Joseph's shortstop, advancing to third on obstruction. The rookie took the final 90 feet when on a first-and-third double steal. Then, a wild pitch and RBI single from freshman first baseman Carson Weis (Rivervale, N.J./Pascack Valley Regional)scored Carter to make it 4-2. The train kept rolling when sophomore second baseman Matt Ferrara (Paramus, N.J./Paramus) hooked an RBI double down the left field line. A pitching change and two pitches later, Hoagland drove an RBI triple on to the warning track in center field, scoring Perez and creating a 7-2 upper hand.

Six more crossed home in the eighth. Carter continued his hot hitting ways by clubbing a two-RBI double into right centerfield, scoring DiGirolamo and freshman catcher Stephen Zukofsky (North Haledon, N.J./Passaic County Tech) after they provided back-to-back singles. A pair of infield singles from Cuevas and Weis plated Carter, Ferrara was hit by a pitch and freshman pinch hitter Christopher Liriano(Bergenfield, N.J./Bergenfield) drove in two with a single through the left side. Freshman outfielder Evan Smith (Rutherford, N.J./Rutherford) completed WP's outburst with an RBI fielder's choice to score Ferrara.

The Golden Eagles did generate a run in the ninth off of freshman righty Jake Kavanagh (Midland Park, N.J./Midland Park), using a walk, stolen base and RBI single up the middle off the bat of sophomore third baseman Tyler Sanderson. Kavanagh finished the frame to give WP it's second-largest margin of victory this season.
