ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College baseball team swept defending Liberty League Champion Rochester Institute of Technology on Sunday afternoon, grabbing both wins in walk-off fashion.

The Raptors triumphed over the Tigers  5-4, in Game 1, when Nikolai Grumet was hit by a pitch with the bases-loaded in extra innings.

Then in Game 2, Lee Perry drilled a bases-loaded single in the bottom of the seventh, to knock in two runs and hand Bard the 2-1 win.

With the wins, Bard moved to 10-11 overall and 4-4 in the Liberty League. RIT meanwhile, dropped to 6-8 and 3-5. RIT was picked first in the preseason Liberty League poll; Bard was picked last.

The Raptors opened the afternoon with the first run of the day, thanks to a David Schlosser sacrifice fly that scored Jordan Myers in the third inning of Game 1.

In the fourth, Perry doubled the Bard advantage with a sacrifice bunt that scored Mike Pizzuto. 

RIT answered in the top of fifth inning however, nabbing four runs and the lead in the frame. The Tigers' lead was short lived though, as the Raptors were able to tie the contest up in the bottom half of the inning thanks to Rory Maglich.

With the bases-loaded and two outs, Maglich fought off three straight foul balls, before doubling down the left field line to score two and tie the game at 4-4.

The score remained the same until the bottom of the eighth, when Bard went out and snatched the win off three straight singles and the Grumet hit by pitch.

Neither team's starter got a decision in the game, as both were done before the fifth inning. Alex Bunnell pitched 2.2 innings of relief for the Raptors and collected the win, while Brett Bouchard (Fairport, NY) got the loss.

Pizzuto went-3-for-3 in the game with a double and walk. Myers, Maglich and Perry each tallied two hits.

Navada Waterman (Coudersport, PA) went 3-for-5 in the loss.

In Game 2, the offense slowly considerably for both sides.

Through the first six and half innings, the only run came off a sacrifice fly in the second inning for RIT, leaving the Raptors with just three outs to make a comeback in the seventh. 

The result seemed to favor the guests, considering Bard had just one hit entering the final frame. But the Raptors didn't fold.

After a fly out started the inning, Dillon Daine singled, before Pizzuto doubled him to third. RIT then chose to intentionally walk Maglich to load the bases with one out for Perry.

Perry wasn't fazed.

The senior shortstop slapped a 1-1 fastball to right-center to drive home Daine and Pizzuto for the Raptors' second walk-off win of the day.

Frank Ortega picked up the win for Bard, following his complete game. The right-hander threw seven innings and allowed just one run on seven hits. The win was also his fourth of the season, which passed Bunnell's previous season record for wins in a single season. 

As for RIT, Daniel Zeglen (Scotia, NY) also tossed a complete game in the losing effort.
