OSWEGO, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher College baseball continued to roll as the Cardinals won their fifth straight game and knocked off nationally-ranked Oswego State, 3-2, in 11 innings on Tuesday at Laker Baseball Field.  With the win, Fisher, which has posted a win in 11 of its last 12 games, improved to 15-7.  The No. 19 Lakers, who had won 11 straight entering Tuesday's regional matchup, fell to 16-6 with the loss. 

After three scoreless innings of play, Fisher jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the fourth.  Thomas Pasquale led off the frame with a single up the middle and moved to second when Allen Murphy drilled a base hit through the right side of the infield.  After both runners moved up a bag on a balk, Ryan Simmons lifted a sacrifice fly to right to push a run across and make it 1-0 heading to the home half of the inning. 

The Lakers answered in the bottom of the fourth, however, after coming away with two runs including a solo shot to right center.

The advantage would last until the eighth inning when Fisher knotted the game at two runs apiece.  Pasquale once again started the rally with a single and moved to second when Scott Eisenmenger reached on an infield error.  With two on and one away, Murphy reached on a fielder's choice, but an errant throw from the Lakers' third baseman allowed the runners to move up with Eisenmenger scoring the tying run on the play.

With the score tied at 2-2, both bullpens held their ground until the top of the 11th as Fisher once again took advantage of an Oswego error.  Stephen Edgett reached on an infield misplay and moved into scoring position before moving to third base on a wild pitch.  With a runner 90 feet away and one down, Justin Graham stepped in and ripped a single to right to score Edgett and give St. John Fisher a 3-2 lead before the Lakers could retire the side.

Trailing by one, Oswego had a tough task as Dillan Wilkinson took the mound and mowed the Lakers down in order to preserve the win and notch his first save of the season. 

Tim Geissel started on the bump for the Cardinals but didn't factor in the decision after throwing 3.1 innings and allowing two runs on four hits.  Pat Galer entered in the fourth and tossed 3.2 hitless innings with three strikeouts before giving way to Jack Delaney (1-0) who picked up his first career win after going three innings in relief.  Delaney turned in a dominant performance after yielding just one hit with four strikeouts.  Wilkinson pitched a perfect 11th inning.

At the dish, Fisher totaled nine hits led by Murphy who went 3-for-5 overall.  Graham and Pasquale each had two hits while Eisenemenger, who now needs just one hit to become the seventh active player in Division III with at least 200 career hits, and Simmons rounded out the hitting for Fisher with one each.

The Cardinals are right back at it at 4 p.m. on Wednesday as they host The College at Brockport in another non-conference showdown at Dugan Yard.
