CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. – The Golden Eagles earned their 30th win on the season topping Thomas More, 16-14, Tuesday in Crestview Hills, Ky.

HIGHLIGHTS
- SU took charge early scoring three runs in top of the first. Garrett Wilson led off the game with a home run to left field to put the Golden Eagles up, 1-0. Clay Kelly reached on a walk and Joe Hatcher lifted a ball over the left field wall to give SU a three-run lead after one inning.
- The Golden Eagles put up a five-spot in the third extending their lead to 8-0. Eric Meyer singled up the middle scoring Wilson from third for the first run of the inning. Kelly came home on a wild pitch and a throwing error to home by the catcher allowed Meyer to score. Bryce Spalding singled down the right field line scoring Hatcher and Zane Baker singled through the right side driving in Quenton Brownlee.
- Leading 8-4, Wilson struck again in the fifth inning, tripling to center field wall bringing Brownlee and Evan Trentman across the plate.
- SU added a run in the seventh when an error at third allowed Kyle Stevens to score from second to make the score, 11-4.
- Thomas More scored four runs in the bottom of the eighth to cut the Golden Eagles lead to one run. However, SU answered with a five-run top of the ninth to widen the margin to six runs. Kyle Stevens doubled to left center scoring Hatcher from third to get it started, Isaac Lineberry followed with a single to left bringing in Brownlee and Stevens crossed the plate on a balk. The final two runs of the inning came on an error in right field that allowed Lineberry and Harper to score.
STAT LEADERS
- Garrett Wilson led the Golden Eagles at the plate going 4-for-5 including a home run and a triple, while driving in three runs.
- Joe Hatcher and Quenton Brownlee also had solid days at the plate. Hatcher finished 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI, while Brownlee went 3-for-5 with two runs scored.
- Dillon Sievert (3-0) earned the win limiting the Saints to two runs, on four hits, while striking out three batters in 3.0 innings pitched.
FOR THE FOES
- Ben Lauman led Thomas More going 4-for-6 with six RBI and three runs scored.
- Brandon Ward (0-3) suffered the loss allowing three runs, on two hits in one inning pitched.
