The University of Scranton baseball team completed its regular season with a 4-2 loss to Susquehanna in a Landmark Conference game at Volpe Field on Sunday afternoon.

The game, which was played in dreary conditions, had no impact on the upcoming Landmark Conference playoffs. The Royals (20-19, 11-7 Landmark) were locked into the no. 3 seed while Susquehanna (17-23, 9-9) had been eliminated on Saturday when Scranton won both ends of the doubleheader.

The Royals jumped ahead on Sunday with a pair of runs in the bottom of the second. Sophomore catcher Matthew Fisch (Spring Brook Township, Pa./North Pocono) scored on a wild pitch and sophomore shortstop Travis Adams (Clark, N.J./St. Joseph's-Metuchen) scored on a passed ball.

Susquehanna tied the game with two in the fourth, then won it with a run in the top of the eighth and an insurance run in the top of the ninth.

Junior righty Pat Rohr (Audubon, Pa./Devon Prep) gave Scranton a solid start, working six innings and allowing two runs, both earned, on three hits and two walks while striking out three.

Freshman outfielder Connor Harding (Vestal, N.Y./Vestal Central) singled twice and stole a base, and junior first baseman Ian McIntosh (Newtown, Pa./LaSalle College H.S.) had a double for Scranton.

The Royals will open the Landmark Conference Championships on Friday, May 11, when they take on second-seeded Elizabethtown at 7 p.m. in the second game of the day at Volpe Field. While the Royals are hosting the championships, they will be the road team in Friday night's game due to Elizabethtown earning the higher seed.
