Baruch Ends Florida Trip With Win Over Vassar

The Baruch College Bearcats finished their annual trip to Fort Myers, Florida on a winning note with a 5-1 victory against Vassar College.

The Brewers from the Liberty League Conference struck first in the fourth inning on a bases loaded walk, but the Bearcats quickly responded and took control the rest of the game.

Davic Capellan tied it in the bottom fourth on a sac fly RBI and Kevin Sengara followed with an RBI single for a 2-1 lead they would not relinquish.

Capellan had another sac fly RBI in the sixth inning to increase the advantage to 3-1.

Captain Michael McGroarty smacked an RBI single in the seventh and Sengara had another RBI single in the eighth to round out the win.

JP Ramirez started and struck out seven in the opening four innings. Theodore Avgerinos earned the win with five innings of scoreless relief on seven strikeouts.
