PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. – Senior outfielder Bryan Gillen goes 3 for 4 with three singles, notching his 200th career hit, as Arcadia completes the series sweep of Messiah 3-2 Sunday morning in Port St. Lucie, Fla.

AU was forced to come-from-behind as the Cougars pushed two runs across in the third on a steal of home by Chris Larose and an RBI single by Ryan Hentschel, allowing Dan Wiederrecht to walk home, to take the 2-0 advantage.

The Scarlet & Grey started their comeback in the fifth as Phil Pierfy lined a double into left field, and Matt Ernst waltzed home from third, cutting the deficit to 2-1.

The Knights overtook Messiah in the seventh on a no-out, bases loaded walk to Sean Carew, forcing in Ernst. Pierfy followed and grounded into a double play, but Gillen came in to score, putting Arcadia up for good at 3-2.

Joel Bartoni (3-0) picked up his second complete game of the year for the Knights, his first of the nine inning variety. The senior allowed two runs (1 ER), scattering five hits while striking out three and walking one.

For the Cougars, Luke Luckenbaugh pitched well for 6.0 innings, surrendering one run on six hits, with four strikeouts and four walks. Paul Hansel, who got the loss, faced four batters to start the seventh inning. In the frame, Hansel hit two batters, issued a walk and gave up a single, allowing the two deciding runs in the process, without recording an out. Ben Stewart relieved Hansel and shut down Arcadia for the final 2.0 innings, but it was too late.

Gillen's three hits paced the offense with Pierfy chipping in two hits and Zachary Sekelick and Zak Thomas recording a base knock apiece.

Arcadia returns home from its Spring Break trip and will travel to Scranton University to face the Royals on March 20. First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m.
