The University of Scranton completed a three-game sweep of Juniata on Sunday by winning both ends of a doubleheader at Volpe Field after taking the first game of the Landmark Conference series on Saturday.
The Royals (6-7, 4-1 Landmark) won Sunday's opening game, 8-6, before closing out the series with a 9-2 triumph over the Eagles (5-8, 0-3 Landmark) in the nightcap.
Game 1
Scranton took a 3-0 lead in the first inning of Sunday's first game and added a run in the home third to stake out a four-run advantage.
Juniata pulled to within a run in the top of the fifth, but the Royals countered with three runs of their own in the bottom of the fifth to claim a 7-3 lead.
Two runs by the Eagles in the top of the sixth made it a 7-5 ballgame, but Scranton would prevail as both teams scored a single run in their final trips to the plate.
Junior Kevin Haag (Ossining, N.Y./Ossining/Bridgton Academy (Maine)) went 2-for-2 with a double, a walk, two RBI, and two runs scored while sophomore Connor Harding (Vestal, N.Y./Vestal) was 2-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored.
Senior Pat Rohr (Audubon, Pa./Devon Prep) picked up his second win of the season, going 4.2 innings with three runs against on five hits while striking out one batter.
Fellow senior Bryan Carmon (Flemington, N.J./Hunterdon Central) preserved the win for Rohr, recording his second save of the season by pitching the final 2.1 innings with three unearned runs against on four hits while picking up one strikeout.
Game 2
In Sunday's nightcap, junior Kyle Bravin (Washington Township, N.J./Westwood Regional) turned in an outstanding start and the Scranton offense did the rest as the Royals completed the sweep.
Bravin tossed 7.2 innings and allowed two runs on just four hits while striking out five batters.
Scranton led 3-0 after two innings before the Eagles got on the board in the top of the third. The Royals responded with a pair of runs in the fourth and three more in the fifth to open up an 8-1 advantage.
Both teams scored a single run apiece in the eighth inning to account for the final score.
Harding had another strong offensive performance, going 3-for-5 with a two triples, two runs scored, and an RBI.
Junior Brandon Peters (Peckville, Pa./Valley View) and sophomore Kevin Johnson (Whitehouse Station, N.J./Hunterdon Central) had two hits and two RBI apiece while sophomore Kyler McAllister (Jefferson Township, Pa./Scranton Prep) also contributed a pair of hits and scored two runs.
On the mound, senior Matt McDonald (Clarks Summit, Pa./Abington Heights) came on relief for Bravin and recorded the final out of the eighth inning while freshman Josh Lydon (Shavertown, Pa./Dallas) retired the Eagles in order in the ninth inning to close out the game.
The Royals doubled up Juniata in hits in the game two victory, 12-6, with six of the host's hits going for extra-bases.

Scranton will welcome crosstown foe Marywood to Volpe Field on Tuesday for a non-conference game starting at 5 p.m.
