DARTMOUTH, Mass. --  Seniors Chris Wood (Berkley, Mass.) and Jack Harrington (Barnstable, Mass.) each had three hits and three RBI to lead UMass Dartmouth to an 18-11 non-league college baseball victory over Roger Williams Thursday afternoon at the UMD Baseball Field.

The host Corsairs (7-9) overcame a 2-0 first inning deficit by plating three runs in their first at-bat, as Harrington drove in a pair with a single through the right side and junior Mike Knell (Dennis, Mass.) scored on a fielder's choice.  UMass Dartmouth erupted for seven runs on five hits in the bottom of the second to take control of the contest, as a two-run single by junior Nate Tellier (Attleboro, Mass.) and a two-run double off the bat of senior Pat Vartanian (Canton, Mass.) highlighted the frame.

The visiting Hawks (5-8-1) got a pair of runs back in the third on freshman Tommy Hobin's (Madison, Conn.) two-run double, but the Corsairs responded once again in their half of the inning on an RBI double by Wood and Vartanian's run-scoring single to left.  Roger Williams put two more on the board in the fifth on RBI singles off the bats of junior Joey Gulino (Meriden, Conn.) and freshman Ben Bonavita (East Longmeadow, Mass.), and the hosts got a run back in the bottom of the frame on sophomore Tucker Hetherman's (Webster, Mass.) sacrifice fly.

UMass Dartmouth put up its fourth crooked number of the day in the bottom of the sixth, as Wood's second run-scoring double of the day was followed by Tellier's sacrifice fly and a pair of RBI singles from Knell and Hetherman to cap a four-run outburst.  The visitors scored twice in the top of the eighth when freshmen James Jackson (Seekonk, Mass.) and Ricky Miller (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) drew bases loaded walks, and the Hawks closed out the scoring with three ninth inning tallies that came on a bases loaded walk to senior Tyler Brett (Hebron, Conn.), a wild pitch and Miller's infield single to account for the final margin.

Tellier, Vartanian and Hetherman rapped out two hits and drove in three runs each as part of a 17-hit attack for UMass Dartmouth, which collected six doubles on the day.  Knell added two hits and scored five runs for the Corsairs, who also received two hits off the bat of junior JR DiSarcina (Barnstable, Mass.).  Junior Shane Reardon (Kinnelon, N.J.), the second of eight hurlers for the hosts on the afternoon, picked up the win with four relief innings that featured a pair of strikeouts.

Senior Chris Bosco (North Andover, Mass.), junior Justin Stone (Blackstone, Mass.) and sophomore Brandon Jenkins (East Bridgewater, Mass.) rapped out two hits each as part of a 12-hit attack in the setback for Roger Williams, as freshman Anthony Sapienza (North Andover, Mass.) suffered the setback on the mound for the Hawks to fall to 1-2 on the spring.

UMass Dartmouth hosts Plymouth State in a Little East Conference doubleheader on Saturday afternoon at the UMD Baseball Field beginning at Noon, while Roger Williams travels to Dudley, Mass. on Saturday afternoon to square off with Nichols in a Commonwealth Coast Conference twinbill that also begins at Noon.
