CHESTER, PA. -- Gwynedd Mercy and Widener played to a 6-6 tie on Tuesday in a rescheduled game from Monday. The game was called after the eighth due to darkness.

The Griffins pounded out 15 hits including six doubles on the day. Nick Mulvey tied a program single-game record with three doubles as the senior went 4-for-5. Tommy Nardini had career highs with three hits and three runs, but a three-run home run in the eighth by the home team would eventually tie things up.

Nardini and Mulvey had RBI doubles in the first to spike the Griffins to a 2-0 lead. The Pride crossed a run in the bottom half and added two more in the second for a brief lead.

GMercyU countered in the third with a sac fly from Josh Lopez to score Nardini and later an RBI from T.J. Brasier to plate Mulvey.

Starter Gino Tripodi threw scoreless innings in the fourth and fifth before being lifted in the sixth after a lead-off walk.

With runners on second and third in the seventh, Liam Sullivan came on for Matt Pallotta and thwarted the threat with a strikeout.

With darkness creeping in and after a lead-off walk in the bottom of the eighth and a pitching change, a single would put two on for Widener's Ryan Bennett who hit a three-run homer to left to knot things up at 6-6.

Bennett finished the day with five RBIs for the Pride.

Gwynedd Mercy will host Delaware Valley tomorrow in the Griffin's home opener. First pitch is slotted for 3:30 p.m.
