CCNY Defeats Baruch (5-2) in Series Finale

The Baruch College Bearcats lost 5-2 to the Beavers of CCNY today in West Harrison, NY.

The Bearcats fell behind 1-0 in the third, but Conor McCabe hit a solo homerun in the bottom of the fourth to tie things up.

The Beavers then scored four runs in the sixth inning to take control. McCabe attempted to lead a comeback in the bottom half of the inning with his second RBI of the game, a single that drove in Liam O'Gara. However, the Beavers held on and secured an important conference win.

Sophomore Nicholas Valeriano had a strong game for the Bearcats, picking up two hits and two stolen bases.

Nicholas D'Angelo came on in relief and left the Beavers hitless over the final 1.2 innings.  

The Bearcats finish their conference regular season with an 8-4 record, securing them a place in the CUNY championship series. The Beavers are now 5-4 in conferenceand tied with CSI for second place.

The Bearcats return to action on Thursday April 25 at 4 p.m. in Valhalla, NY (Westchester CC) in a matchup against Mount Saint Vincent from the Skyline Conference.
