Middletown, Conn. – First-year RHP Cameron Crowley (Downers Grove, Pa.) improved to 8-0 on the hill, tossing 7.1 scoreless innings and allowing three hits with five strikeouts as the visiting Trinity College Bantams blanked the Wesleyan University Cardinals in baseball action this afternoon.  Trinity closes the regular season with a 27-7 record and hopes to qualify for the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament later this month.  The Cardinals close the year at 17-18.

The game went scoreless for the first seven innings.  In the bottom of the second, Wesleyan left the bases loaded and Trinity did the same in the top of the third.
In the top of the eighth, the Trinity senior 1B Johnny Stamatis (Ridgefield, Conn.) was hit by a pitch to lead off the first inning. He then stole second, and eventually crossed home plate on a throwing error by the Cardinals. 

The Bantams added an insurance run in the ninth. Senior Tyler Buckley (Mount Kisco, N.Y.) hit a leadoff double to right center and classmate Geoffrey Stillman (Scituate, Mass.) brought him home on the next at-bat with a single through the left side.  With runners on first and third and no outs, Wesleyan picked off a base runner and then on the next at-bat, left fielder Danny Rose caught a fly out and threw to home, getting the runner for a double play and keeping it a two-run game.

Trinity senior tri-captain LHP Erik Mohl (Milton, Mass.) gave up a leadoff single in the bottom of the ninth but retired the next three batters to collect a five-out save.  Peter DeLalio earned the starting nod and threw 3.0 scoreless innings while surrendering just one hit and striking out five, while senior Doug Hartshorn entered the game in the top of the fourth and pitched four excellent innings of relief work.  Stillman went 2-for-4 with an RBI for the Trinity offense.
