- In the sixth, the Spartans took advantage of some porous Cougar defense. White would score on a Purviance sac fly with Wiskow advancing to second on the throw to the plate.
- Jeff Mayes followed with a single which scored Wiskow and AU led 2-1.
- The Spartan bats kept humming in the seventh. The first four Spartans reached with a hit by pitch to Paul Dobravec, a single from Jett Wedekind and Colin Rivard's sac bunt allowed him to reach as the throw went to third with Dobravec beating the force attempt to load the bases. White followed with a run scoring single and AU led 3-1. With one out, Wiskow hit what looked to possibly be a double-play ball to the Cougar shortstop but an error allowed Wedekind and Rivard to score and AU led 5-1. One out later, Mayes singled to drive in White and push the lead to 6-1.
- In the seventh, CUC started the inning with three straight singles with one run scoring against Kyle Blunt. Blunt gave way to reliever Nicholas Mathey who immediately shut the door on any further Cougar rally.
- Over the next two innings, Mathey allowed just one base hit while shutting the door on the top ranked Cougars.
- AU won 6-2 and advance to the NACC Tournament final as the lone unbeaten team for a second consecutive year.
