ASHLAND, Va. – Senior Ryan Duphorn (Erial, N.J./Paul VI) reached base four times and scored each time as the No. 20 Randolph-Macon baseball team defeated No. 24 Penn State Harrisburg 10-6 on Sunday afternoon.

How It Happened
- The Yellow Jackets got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the first. With one away, freshman Ricky Gannett (Newark, Del./St. Mark's) blooped a double into shallow left center. He moved to third on a wild pitch and came home on a two-out single by senior Reece Yeargain (Chester, Va./Benedictine) as R-MC took a 1-0 lead.
- R-MC added to its advantage in the third. Duphorn drew a leadoff walk and stole second. With one away, senior Mike Nickles (Stafford, Va./Colonial Forge) reached on a bunt single and went to second on an errant throw, which allowed Duphorn to score to make it 2-0. Mike Nickles advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored on a single to right by his brother, senior Shawn Nickles (Stafford, Va./Colonial Forge), to give the home team a 3-0 edge.
- After the Lions tallied two in the top of the fourth, the Yellow Jackets answered in the bottom of the frame. Duphorn again drew a leadoff walk, moved to third on a single to right by Gannett and scored on a wild pitch to give R-MC a 4-2 lead.
- PSH pulled within one in the top of the fifth before the Yellow Jackets again answered in the bottom of the fifth. Senior Zach Evans (Fort Mill, S.C./Seneca) had an RBI single, Duphorn knock in two with a base hit to center, and Mike Nickles delivered a sacrifice fly to make it 8-3. Duphorn scored from third on an error to raise the score to 9-3.
- PSH scored two in the sixth to make it 9-5. R-MC added one in the seventh as Duphorn singled, moved to third on an errant pickoff throw and came home on a sac fly by Gannett to extend it to 10-5. The Lions left the bases loaded in a scoreless eighth, had a leadoff homer in the ninth and left the bases loaded again in the ninth as the Yellow Jackets held on for the 10-6 victory.

- Duphorn went 2 for 3 with two walks, two steals and four runs. He leads the team with 14 runs this season. Gannett and junior Jacob Selden (Lynchburg, Va./E.C. Glass) both had two hits.
- Senior Michael Zubovich (Chantilly, Va./Freedom) earned the win to go 3-0. He allowed three hits in 5.0 innings with three runs, two earned runs, three walks and five strikeouts. Senior Hayden Moore (Mechanicsville, Va./Hanover) recorded his first save, going the final 1.2 innings with three hits, one run and two strikeouts.
- PSH stranded 12, while R-MC left nine on base.
