Baruch Finishes Successful Florida Trip, Defeat Lakeland (Wisconsin) in Final Game

The Baruch College baseball team defeated the Muskies of Lakeland University of Wisconsin, 3-1, on Monday morning in Fort Myers, Florida.

The Bearcats finish their trip with a 5-3 record in Fort Myers and are now 6-3 overall on the regular-season schedule.

Paul Sirakowski recorded his third win in as many games with a complete-game of five hits allowed, four strikeouts and only one run earned that scored in the final inning.

The Bearcats notched their first run in their opening at-bat with Kemal Deljanin scoring on an error for the quick 1-0.

The fielding woes for the Muskies continued in the third inning with Robert Schmück and Deljanin each scoring on errors.

The Muskies got a run back in their final at-bat on an RBI single by Trevor Meier, but the Bearcats and Sirakowski hung on for the 3-1 win.

Schmück led the Bearcats batting 2-for-4 with a stolen base and run scored.

Also in great news for the baseball team on Monday, Deljanin (Player), Sirakowski (Pitcher) and David Sierra Perez (Rookie) each earning CUNYAC Weekly Honors.
