Westermeyer and Goldman combined to allow just four hits on the mound for St. Olaf as the Oles claimed the opener. Westermeyer earned the win with four innings of two-run ball before giving way to Goldman, who did not allow a hit and struck out three in three shutout innings of relief to pick up the save.

Lavin added a sacrifice fly later in the innings and Brian Nevin followed with a two-out RBI single to left to cap the inning.

Hamline responded by scoring a pair of runs in the next half inning to get within one, as Braeden Boerne drove a two-out, two-run double to right. Those were the only runs Westermeyer allowed as he ran his career record to 8-3 with the victory.
