ROCKFORD, IL - The Benedictine University baseball team added another sweep, grabbing two games at Rockford to run their win streak to 11 games.

GAME ONE

Benedictine scored four runs in the top of the second to take control early
- Kyle Mitter notched a two-run single and two more runs scored on an error
- Jack Surin accounted for the rest of the offense with one swing in the fifth, a three-run homer to make the score 7-0
- The pitching staff, which ranks among the best in the nation, did the rest in recording a fourth shutout of the year, three of which have come in conference

GAME ONE LEADERS

Justin Sosa struck out 10 in seven innings to improve to 3-0 on the year, allowing just one hit
- Ryan Litavecz tossed the final two frames
- Mitter and Jack Feeley both finished with two hits

GAME TWO

Rockford struck first in the second contest, opening a 2-0 lead with a pair of runs in the fourth
- Benedictine went on to score the next 16 runs
- Surin tied the game with a two-run homer in the fifth
- Benedictine opened a 6-2 lead with four in the seventh
- Kevin Bushnell hit a two-run homer to put Benedictine in front and Brenden Norberg added an RBI double before a sacrifice bunt from Mitter
- 10 runs scored in the eighth to blow the roof of the contest
- 15 men came to the plate during the 10-run frame
- Damen Castillo opened the outburst with a two-run homer and would add an RBI double later in the inning
- Benedictine took advantage of a Rockford error to score seven unearned runs in the inning

GAME TWO LEADERS

Benedictine banged out 17 hits in the second game including 10 for extra bases, three of which were homers
- Castillo logged four hits, three runs and three RBIs
- Bushnell and Anthony Lenza logged three hits apiece
- Drake Berman struck out eight and allowed just one earned run in seven innings of work to grab the win
- Ty Liaromatis finished out the contest

UP NEXT
Benedictine (17-6, 8-0 NACC) will host Elmhurst in a non-conference game on Wednesday night.
