JACKSON, Miss. – The Millsaps baseball team's offense came alive, scoring the most runs since 2007 in a 22-1 win over the University of Dallas on Sunday. The 21-run margin of victory at Twenty Field was the largest since the 2013 season.

Millsaps (7-3) used 22 hits and scored in each of the first eight innings to down Dallas (2-4). Sunday's victory matched the 21-run triumph at Berry College on March 16, 2013.

Sophomore Jackson Hood delivered three scoreless innings while striking out three batters. Freshman Ethan Klapatch stuck out two batters in the ninth in relief.

A total of 14 different Majors recorded a hit with Chris Hart, Bradley Pelle and Sam Suggs each tallying three hits. Hart scored five runs, while Avery Brock and Mason Little each plated three RBIs.

After Hood tallied two strikeouts in the top of the first, the Majors got on the board when the Crusaders' pitcher was unable to field a ground ball cleanly to score Hart.

The Majors bats came alive in the bottom of the second as they batted around the order and picked up seven more runs in the process.

Millsaps picked up another three runs in the bottom of third when a duo of Dallas pitchers struggled to find the struck zone as four Majors got on base without getting a hit.

Pitre and Brock tallied two-strike RBI hits to left field to make it a 13-0 game going into the fifth inning. In the bottom of the fifth with the bases loaded, Branyan Bounds and Jackson Ware were both walked, consecutively. Case Page would then blast a two-RBI double to the warning track in center field. Little would finish out the scoring in the fifth with a sac fly to centerfield for an 18-0 score.

Dallas would score their first run in the sixth, but the Majors would keep rolling with another two runs scored in each of the seventh and eighth innings to end the game in dominating fashion ahead 22-1.

Millsaps will next face Belhaven, weather permitting, in Game One of the Cowboy Maloney Series on Tuesday. First pitch is set for 6:00 p.m. Live stats and video links are available on the baseball schedule page at gomajors.com. Check Millsaps Majors social media for potential postponements.
