BRIDGEWATER, Va. – The Bridgewater College baseball team shutout local rival Mary Baldwin this afternoon winning 4-0.

How It Happened

  • The Eagles got on the board in the bottom of the fourth when Kevin Navedo drove in Jeffrey Snider. Snider made it to first safely on an infield hit and stole second before Navedo drove him in on a single to center to make the score 1-0.
  • Later in the inning, Collin Reid singled and drove in Navedo to make it 2-0.
  • In the fifth, the Eagles added two more runs, one on a sac fly from Snider to send Jacob Grabeel home.
  • Navedo was up next and drew a walk. Brandon Hartman would push him to third base on a single.
  • Hunter Clever drove in Navedo on an RBI single to right field to make it 4-0, all the Eagles would need to win.

Match Notes

  • Holdyn Ambrose earned his third win of the year to make his record 3-0. He pitched seven strong innings striking out four batters.
  • Robbie Stoss and Brett Tharp would each toss one inning to finish the game.
  • Tharps inning earned him the save, his fifth of the season.
  • Navedo went 3-3 at the plate with one RBI.
  • Clever, Snider and Reid also drove in a run for the Eagles.
  • Grabeel and Snider each stole a base.
