Keystone Falls to No. 10 Rowan

DAVENPORT, Fla. – The Keystone College baseball team dropped a 21-0 decision in seven innings to No. 10 Rowan University on Friday morning in the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational.

With the defeat, Keystone drops to 3-7 and will face Coe College (2-2) in a doubleheader on Monday, March 14 at 3:30 p.m. The Profs improve to 4-1 and will face No. 19 University of Southern Maine (1-2) on Saturday at 1:45 p.m.

The Giants will play two JV games this weekend, going up against Southern Maine on Saturday at 5:15 p.m., followed by a 3:30 p.m. contest on Sunday against the Ontario Terriers.

Keystone finished with two hits - coming off the bat of Bobby Pokorney (Margate, Fla./J.P. Taravella) and Derrick Cancel (Orlando, Fla./Chancery Charter) – a single to right-center in the third and a base knock to right in the sixth.

Isaac Neal (Schnecksville, Pa./Parkland) earned the start and forced four flyouts with one groundout and one strikeout in two innings. Brandon Reining (Orlando, Fla./Boone) and Sam Beadle (Canton, Conn./Canton) appeared in relief with Beadle punching out two.

For Rowan, six players finished with 2+ hits, as Ryan Mostrangeli went 4-for-5 with three doubles, four RBI, and two runs scored while Tyler Cannon drove in four runs.

On the hill for the Profs, Eli Atiya struck out seven (three looking) with six flyouts and three groundouts.
