LYNCHBURG, Va. – Freshman Lincoln Lubsen (Williamsburg, Va./Walsingham Academy) went 3 for 4 with two doubles and two RBI as the Randolph-Macon baseball team dropped an 8-7 ODAC decision at fourth-ranked Lynchburg on Tuesday afternoon.

How It Happened:
- Following a scoreless first inning, the Yellow Jackets lit the scoreboard in the second. Freshman Aaron Lautenschlager (Purcellville, Va./Loudoun Valley) drew a two-out walk and scored on a double by Lubsen as R-MC took a 1-0 advantage.
- R-MC would add to its lead in the fourth. Junior Carter Johnson (Southampton, Va./Southampton) reached on a bunt single with one away and came home on a double by Lautenschlager to make it 2-0.
- The Yellow Jackets would double their lead again in the fifth. Senior Spencer Pietruszynski (Williamsburg, Va./Jamestown) led off the inning by reaching second on an error. He moved to third on a one-out base hit by junior Ethan Iannuzzi (Chesterfield, Va./Cosby) and scored on a wild pitch to make it 3-0. Senior Will Hass (Charlottesville, Va./St. Anne's Belfield) had a two-out double to plate Iannuzzi and give the visitors a 4-0 edge.
- R-MC added insurance runs in the eighth. Lautenschlager had a leadoff single and scored on a double by Lubsen to extend the lead to 5-0. Pietruszynski tripled to drive in Lubsen and make it 6-0. Iannuzzi delivered a two-out single to bring home Pietruszynski and raise the score to 7-0.
- The Hornets would score two in the eighth and six in the ninth to pull out the 8-7 win.
