ASHLAND, Va. – Sophomore Myles Webb (Norfolk, Va./Granby) went 6 for 10 with five runs as the Randolph-Macon baseball team swept an ODAC doubleheader from Bridgewater on Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened – Game 1:
- The Yellow Jackets put up a crooked number in the second in the opener. Webb had a leadoff single and moved to second on a bunt single by senior Spencer Pietruszynski (Williamsburg, Va./Jamestown). Junior Carter Johnson (Southampton, Va./Southampton) followed with his own bunt single to load the bases with none away. Freshman Lincoln Lubsen (Williamsburg, Va./Walsingham Academy) delivered a one-out single to plate Webb with the game's first run. With two away, sophomore Matt Myers (Hampstead, Md./Manchester Valley) cleared the bases with a triple to right center to put R-MC up 4-0.
- R-MC added a run in the third. Webb had a one-out double and went to third when the ball was bobbled in the outfield. With two away, Johnson singled to drive in Webb and make it 5-0.
- The Yellow Jackets tallied another run in the fourth. Lubsen had a leadoff single, was sacrificed to second by sophomore Grayson Bush (Charlottesville, Va./Monticello), went to third on a fielder's choice and scored on an error as R-MC built a 6-0 advantage.
- After the Eagles plated one in the sixth, the Yellow Jackets got it back in the seventh. Webb had a leadoff triple and scored on a sacrifice fly by Pietruszynski to make it 7-1. BC added one in the ninth to make the final 7-2.
By The Numbers
- Webb was a homer short of the cycle, going 3 for 3 with a double, a triple and three runs.
- Lubsen went 3 for 3 with a walk, two runs and one RBI.
- Johnson was 2 for 3 with a walk, one run and one RBI.
- Junior Hayden Snelsire (Berlin, Md./Stephen Decatur) was the starter and winner, tossing five scoreless innings with five hits, all singles, no walks and four strikeouts to raise his record to 4-2.
- Freshman Bere Bauers (Devon, Pa./Devon Prep) worked three innings with three hits, one run, one run and two punchouts.
- Freshman Sam Slevin (Virginia Beach, Va./Frank Cox) allowed one hit and one run in the ninth and secured the victory.
How It Happened – Game 2:
- After the Eagle put up three in the top of the first, the Yellow Jackets responded in the bottom of the frame. Myers had a leadoff single and moved to third on an error as sophomore Hunter Cole (Norfolk, Va./Granby) reached on a fielder's choice. Junior Ethan Iannuzzi (Chesterfield, Va./Cosby) singled to center to drive in Myers and make it 3-1. Johnson and freshman Aaron Lautenschlager (Purcellville, Va./Loudon Valley) delivered two-out RBI singles as R-MC tied it at 3-3.
- BC went up a run in the second before R-MC answered in the third. Pietruszynski had a leadoff double and scored from second on a hit-and-run single by junior Logan Smith (Midlothian, Va./Midlothian) to level the score at 4-4.
- The Eagles reclaimed the lead with a run in the top of the fourth before the Yellow Jackets took the lead for good in the bottom of the fourth. Iannuzzi had a one-out single and scored on a double by Webb to tie it at 5-5. A two-bagger by Johnson plated Webb and put the home team on top 6-5.
- R-MC added to its lead in the fifth. Bush drew a leadoff walk and came around on a triple by freshman Aidan Pinto (Virginia Beach, Va./Ocean Lakes) to make it 7-5. Cole knocked in Pinto with a base hit and scored when Iannuzzi homered to left as the Yellow Jackets took a 10-5 advantage.
- After BC put up three in the top of the sixth to pull within two, R-MC put up another crooked number in the seventh. Webb and Johnson had singles and Lautenschlager coaxed a walk to load the bases. With two away, Bush sends a grounder through the right side to knock in two. Pinto and Cole follow with RBI singles as the Yellow Jackets go up 14-8.
- The Eagles would plate two in the top of the ninth and have the bases loaded before freshman Wyatt Stanley (Beaverdam, Va./Patrick Henry) fanned the final batter to preserve the win.

- R-MC stranded 15, while BC left 13 on base.
