LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University baseball team ran their win streak to six games by sweeping past Illinois Tech.

GAME ONE
Illinois Tech opened a 3-0 lead by scoring three times with two outs in the top of the second
Benedictine took the lead in the bottom of the third
Anthony Lenza led off with a double and Ryan Doubek followed with a single
Cole Wilson walked on four pitches to load the bases with no outs
The next two batters were retired before Andrew Tenison blasted a grand slam on a 2-1 pitch
With the bases loaded and no outs in the fourth, Benedictine added two more on a bases loaded walk to Kevin Bushnell before Damen Castillo was hit by a pitch to force in a run
Illinois Tech scored twice with two outs in the fifth to pull within 6-5
Benedictine scored four times in the bottom of the inning to begin pulling away
The first run scored on an error following a bunt from Lenza
• Wilson tallied an RBI single to open the scoring and Bushnell followed by raking a two-run single to right
Benedictine kept scoring runs, plating a pair in the sixth and ended the game with three in the seventh, capped by a game ending bases loaded walk to Bushnell

GAME ONE LEADERS
Benedictine drew 13 walks in the opener and were hit by a pitch three times while tallying 13 hits
Bushnell and Tenison both drove home four
Doubek finished with three hits and scored four times
Simon Herold picked up the win in relief, working 2.1 scoreless innings and striking out six
Stephen Sewruk struck out seven in 4.2 innings

GAME TWO
Illinois Tech scored a single run in the top of the third before Castillo tied the game with a solo homer launched to center in the fourth
Benedictine took the lead for the first time in the bottom of the eighth
Peter Turelli and Castillo singled home runs to put Benedictine in front before two more scored on an error

GAME TWO LEADERS
Justin Sosa struck out nine in six innings
John Creviston picked up the win with two scoreless frames and Tenison finished it out for a save, stranding runners on base
The pitching staff struck out 14
Castillo finished with two hits and a pair of RBIs
