VERONA, Wis. – The Edgewood College Baseball team continued its strong NACC start with a sweep of Wisconsin Lutheran College on Saturday at Stampfl Field. The Eagles cruised in the opener, winning 15-4 via the ten-run rule, before completing the sweep with a 10-6 win in the nightcap.

EAGLES 15, WARRIORS 4 (F/7)
- Entering play on Saturday, the Warriors (3-13, 0-6 NACC) game one starter, Fabio Kamitani led the NACC with a 0.90 ERA. The Eagles (12-6, 5-1 NACC) chased Kamitani in the first inning, scoring eight runs. Kamitani lasted just one-third of an inning in Saturday's start.

- Edgewood College continued to pour it on with three runs in the second and three more in the fourth inning, while adding one in the fifth. It was all more than enough for Eric Nelson, who earned his second win of the season with five strong on the mound. Nelson struck out six, while allowing just three hits and one earned run.

- The Eagles collected 11 hits at the plate and also took advantage of 10 Warriors walks. Max Hoeser paced the offense with a 3-for-3 effort, while scoring twice. The bottom of the Eagles lineup produced as Hoeser bats eighth and the ninth hitter, fellow freshman Ryan Ambrosy, went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and three RBI.

- Jacob Slonim finished the game 2-for-2 with two doubles and two runs scored and Kyle Sagan went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Joseph Kalafut launched a solo home run to lead off the second inning.

- Ryan Mixey finished the game on the mound for the Eagles, giving up two hits and three unearned runs over two innings of work. He struck out three.

EAGLES 10, WARRIORS 6
- Connor Goodwin was the star of game two as the Eagles leadoff man went 4-for-6 with five RBI, a home run, double, and two runs scored. Goodwin changed the momentum early as he launched a two-out, three-run home run in the second inning to give the Eagles a 4-3 lead at the time. The home run came after a Warriors error that should of ended the inning and Goodwin took full advantage with the blast to right center.

- Kyle Jungers settled in nicely after a shaky first inning, throwing six innings and allowing four earned to secure his third win. Jungers struck out four. Garrett Redner added a scoreless frame, while Matthew Turner pitched 1.2 innings with Conner Dunfee getting the last out to record his third save of the season.

- After falling behind 3-0 in the top of the first, the Eagles scored once in the first, three times in the second and once in the third to take the lead. They would add two insurance runs in the seventh and three more in the eighth. Kyle Semrad and Hoeser each scored twice.

- The Warriors wild pitching was again an issue in game two, this time the Eagles took advantage of 15 free passes. Edgewood College pitchers walked just four batters.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Goodwin really enjoys playing in the second game of NACC doubleheaders. In three game twos in league twinbills this season, Goodwin is batting .706 (12-for-17) with seven RBI and eight runs scored.

- The Eagles are off to their best conference start since the 2009 season. Edgewood College started the 2009 NAC (then Northern Athletics Conference) season with a 6-0 record. The finished 12-10.
