GLASSBORO, NJ – Seventh-ranked Rowan pounded out 28 hits in two games to sweep a doubleheader with NJCU, winning 16-3 and 13-4, on a cold and blustery day at the Rowan Baseball Field. The Profs improve to 18-5 (5-1 NJAC) on the season.
 
Game 1
Tyler Cannon was 4-for-7 and drove in three runs, while Hunter Wroniuk  had two hits and two RBI and Anthony Schooley had two hits, including a triple. Karson Harcourt picked up his first two collegiate hits entering the game in the late innings.  Rowan pounded 15 hits and took advantage of six errors by NJCU (8-17; 0-6 NJAC).
 
Jason O'Neill earned his fourth win of the season (4-0) as he went eight innings and limited the Gothic Knights to three runs and David Levin finished off the game in the ninth.
 
Although NJCU scored first, Rowan answered with four runs in the second to take a 4-1 lead. Wroniuk brought in one with a single and Ryan Murphy hit a three-run double to clear the bases.
 
The Profs added to the total with five in the third, with an RBI triple Schooley followed by a double from Eric DiDomenico that brought in one, and a double by Cannon that scored two runs. Murphy reached base on an error to score Cannon and Rowan held a 9-1 advantage.
 
An NJCU error in the outfield in the fourth brought home three more Rowan runs and Wroniuk's single in the fifth and Cannon's single in the seventh built the Profs' lead up to 14-1.
 
The visitors picked up two runs in the eighth, but rookies Harcourt and Nick Fazio each drove in runs. Harcourt hit a single and Fazio walked with the bases loaded as the Profs finished their scoring and led 16-3.
 
Game 2
Donald Zellman earned his first victory of the season, throwing seven strong innings with six strikeouts. Dylan Maria and Christian Bascunan pitched an inning apiece in relief to preserve the win.
 
Wroniuk went 3-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored while DiDomenico was also 3-for-5 and scored two runs. Murphy and Cannon also added two hits apiece for the Profs.
 
Serving as the visiting team in the second game, Rowan wasted no time and put four runs on the board in the top of the first. Murphy singled in one, Ryan Mostrangeli drove in another and Wroniuk drove in two with a single to put the Profs up 4-0.
 
Schooley singled in one in the second and DiDomenico reached base on one of four NJCU errors, which scored Mostrangeli. NJCU got back two runs in the bottom of the inning, but DiDomenico hit his fifth home run of the season in the fifth inning to start a four-run inning. Murphy drove in another with a single and Patrick Defeciani hit a two-run single to give the Profs a comfortable 8-2 lead.
 
Marco Mannino drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in the eighth, and Wroniuk reached base on an error that allowed DiDomenico and Ryan West to cross the plate, upping Rowan's lead to 13-2. NJCU would add two runs in the bottom of the ninth on two hits to provide the final margin.
 
The Profs continue their stretch of nine games in eight days on Tuesday in a rescheduled non-conference meeting at home against Penn State Abington.
