Misenheimer, N.C. -- University of Lynchburg mounted a seven-run comeback and beat Pfeiffer 16-7 Wednesday afternoon.

Gavin Collin and Avery Neaves both had multi-homer days, and Garrett Jackson slugged his seventh four-bagger of the season. Adam Dofflemyer earned the win with two shutout innings.

Wesley Arrington made his start seventh start of the season but was tagged for seven runs in the first two innings. He settled down in the third and retired the side in order. Dofflemyer relieved him in the fourth and was the first of five pitchers to hold the Falcons scoreless.

In the top of the inning, the Hornets started chipping away at the lofty deficit. After an error and a fielder's choice-RBI for Jackson, Neaves made the Falcons pay for giving the Hornets an extra life. He hit his 10th homer of the year, drove in three runs, and tied his home run tally from a season ago.

In the fifth inning with Lynchburg down by three, Collins put the Hornets in front with one swing of the bat. He smashed a grand slam to put Lynchburg up 8-7 marking his first home run since Feb. 26 against Dickson.

After Logan Webster gave the Hornets a little cushion in the sixth with an RBI double, Lynchburg blew the game open in the final two frames. Jackson hit a solo shot, and Collins tallied his first multi-home run game of his career. Later, Neaves hit the fifth long ball of the day and recorded his second two-homer game of the season. He also hit two bombs against Guilford on Apr. 16. Neaves now leads the conference in home runs with 11. He also paces the league in RBI (53), walks (45), average (.419), on-base percentage (.579), and slugging (.839).

The Hornets hit five home runs in a game for the first time since at least the 2010-11 season. The have also scored double-digit runs in seven of the last eight games while reaching 30 wins for the second-straight season.

Lynchburg (30-7, 14-3 ODAC) host Hampden-Sydney on Thursday, Apr. 28 at 3:30 p.m.
