HOW IT HAPPENED IN GAME ONE:

Junior Graham Cartwright (La Jolla, Calif.) added a two-run homer to left in the third, followed by four runs in the fourth behind a two-RBI single to right by first-year Malachi Soqui (Castaic, Calif.).
- Sophomore Teddy Schoenfeld (Boulder, Calif.) made it a 10-0 lead with an RBI single in the fifth before Emerson got on the board in the seventh as Matt Nachamie scored on a wild pitch. The Lions added two more runs in eighth to make it a 10-3 game before MIT ended the game with a four-run eighth. After Anderson and O'Shea drove in runs for the Engineers, first-year Brian Rapanan (Gurnee, Ill.) put an end to things with a two-RBI single up the middle for the 14-3 final.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Senior Casey Bussone (Danvers, Mass.) picked up the win for MIT as he improves to 2-2 following four scoreless innings and a season-high seven strikeouts. AJ Ortega took the loss for Emerson to fall to 0-3 as he allowed six runs on seven hits and two strikeouts over 3.1 innings.

HOW IT HAPPENED IN GAME TWO:
- After two scoreless innings, the Engineers struck for three runs in the third on an RBI groundout by Soqui and a two-RBI double to left by Anderson that brought home Cartwright and O'Shea.
- For Emerson, Calvin Jacey's sacrifice fly in the fourth scored Lou Davolio to get the Lions to within 3-1. From that point on though, it was all MIT as the visitors managed just five hits in the game.

The Engineers exploded for five runs in the seventh as both Kyle Sonandres (Torrance, Calif.) and first-year Reed Tubbs (Pflugerville, Texas) had two-RBI doubles in the inning. Anderson ended the game in the eighth as he singled to left to score Schoenfeld in the 11-1 final.
