Keystone's Season Closes in Regional Final Loss to Ithaca

IMMACULATA, Pa. - The 2022 Keystone College baseball season came to a close on Monday, as the Giants fell to the Ithaca College Bombers 17-2 in the NCAA Regional Final, hosted by Immaculata University.

The Giants end the season at 26-20 while the Bombers improve to 33-12, winning their first regional title since 2013 and advancing to next weekend's Super Regional against Catholic University. This was the first regional final game for Keystone since 2016.

Ithaca scored in every inning except the fourth, as the Bombers plated four runs in the first and five in the eighth, outhitting the Giants 17-5 on Monday. IC enjoyed three homers in the victory.

For Keystone, five different players tallied hits, as JD Barrett (Moosic, Pa./Dallas) notched a double while Vince Montone (Oak Ridge, N.J./Jefferson Township)Adam Kelly (Beach Lake, Pa./Honesdale)Chris Hadsall (Lehman, Pa./Lake Lehman), and Wynston Dyer (Columbia, S.C./Spring Valley) provided base knocks.

On the mound, Nick Gravel (Sidney, N.Y./Sidney) earned the start but suffered the loss while Logan Lixie (Tamarac, Fla./J.P. Taravella)Ross Zanghi (Scranton, Pa./Scranton)Kevin Murphy (Montgomery, N.Y./Valley Central), and Sam Beadle (Canton, Conn./Canton) appeared in relief.

Colin Leyner earned the win for Ithaca, now 7-0 on the year. The righty tossed seven innings and struck out four, tossing 72 pitches.
