A solid opening day that included a single-game program record landed junior second baseman Grant Mitchell on this week's D3baseball.com Team of the Week, which was announced on Wednesday morning.

Mitchell went 4-for-10 with a team-leading five RBI in Saturday's doubleheader split with Grove City College. Mitchell clubbed a three-run homer in the fifth inning of Wooster's 19-7 game two win. Earlier in the day, he legged out two triples against 2022 consensus All-American Tate Ostrowski. Mitchell's triples tied the single-game program record. It marked the 18th time a Fighting Scot hit two triples in a game and the first since All-American Ben Gbur against Case Western Reserve University in 2021.

Wooster (1-1) is idle until opening its Florida trip against Mitchell College (0-0) at 11 a.m. on Sunday, March 12.
