At the Plate
- Tyler Schwarzman (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg) led Hood going 2-for-4 with an RBI.
- Richard Kershow (Eatons Neck, N.Y./Northport) ended the game with two hits, a run scored and a stolen base.
- Jacob Saylor (Walkersville, Md./Walkersville) had an RBI and a run scored.
- Cristian Reyna (Fredericksburg, Va./Stafford) recorded an RBI.
On the Mound
- Colby Childs (Berryville, Va./Clarke County) started the game for the Blazers and threw two complete innings, allowing four runs on two hits. The junior walked five and had four strikeouts.
- Aaron Heller (Philadelphia, Pa./Jack Barrack Hebrew Acad.) allowed only four hits in three innings, giving up no runs.
- Mason Sawyers (Culpeper, Va./Culpeper County) pitched the final three innings and took the loss, giving up one run on three hits, striking out two.
Wilson 5, Hood 4
- The Phoenix took the lead in the first inning of the game, as Dean Mercer singled to start the three-run inning. Michael Marrale drew the first of three walks in the inning. After Mercer scored on a bases-loaded walk, Brady Andre knocked in Doc Daniels and Marrale.
- Hood cut into the Phoenix lead in the third inning, Andrew Perkins (Fresno, Calif./Clovis North) led off the inning with a walk, stole second and scored from second on an Austin Rhue (Milton, Del./Cape Henlopen) bunt single as Chris Baumann threw the ball away. Rhue was awarded second base on the error and stole third.He later scored on a Schwarzman ground out to third base to pull the Blazers within 3-2.
- The Phoenix answered back in the bottom of the inning.Alex Seidleck walked to lead off and moved to second on a wild pitch. Jordan McKenzie brought home Seidleck on a sacrifice fly to right field to push Wilson's lead to 4-2.
- The Blazers fought back in the fourth inning. Kershow led off the inning with a walk and a stolen base. Saylor singled through the left side to drive home Kershow and moved up to second on the throw home. Saylor scored on a two-out single from Reyna to tie up the game at 4-4.
- In the bottom of the eighth inning, the Blazers managed to get the first two Wilson batters out. Buchanan reached and got to second on an error by Rhue at shortstop. Daniels, the next hitter, singled up the middle to drive in Buchanan as the ultimate winning run for Wilson 5-4.
For the Opponent
- Mercer led the Phoenix going 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored and a walk.
- McKenzie had two hits, an RBI and a walk.
- Andre ended the game with two RBIs.
- Daniels and Seidleck both recorded an RBI.
