Benedictine Swings to Win in Florida Opener

The Benedictine University baseball team mashed 19 hits and opened the trip to Florida with a 16-6 victory over UMass-Boston on Friday. All nine members of the lineup posted hits. Kevin Bushnell hit an opposite field grand slam in the eighth and tallied three hits with six RBIs. Steven Salvino and Logan Gregorio also posted three hits. Ryan Doubek and Chase Hanselman both drove home three runs at the top of the lineup. Benedictine posted seven extra-base hits. John Creviston earned the win, working five innings and striking out five. Andrew Kurcz recorded the save with three innings of relief.
