SALISBURY, Md. – The second-ranked Salisbury University baseball team continued its early-season surge by beating the Moravian Greyhounds 15-1 and 8-4 to sweep a three-game weekend series on Sunday afternoon at Donnie Williams Sea Gull Baseball Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME 1

  • The Greyhounds got off to a fast start, loading the bases with one out on two singles and a walk and scoring a run on a Chris Pow RBI single. SU starter Tyler Villa mitigated the damage with an around-the-horn double play to get out of the jam.
  • The Sea Gulls answered in the bottom of the third. Dom Frigiola lashed a one-out double, then two batters later Danny Sheeler looped a single into left to score Frigiola and tie it 1-1.
  • In the fourth, Stephen Rice led off with a single and stole his way around to third. Scott Cameron then doubled him home to give SU the lead. After a couple of flyouts and a walk, Cameron and Luke Weddell executed a double steal and both scored on a base hit by Frigiola to put the Sea Gulls up 4-1.
  • SU added one more in the fourth when left fielder David Olsakowski dropped a Kavi Caster flyball, allowing Frigiola to score to make it 5-1.
