The Lynx began their 3-game series vs. the Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels this afternoon, winning by a score of 11-6.

Sophomore Mick Arney made an emergency start after a late scratch of Nick Ferazzi, and he did his job, pitching four and one-third innings and keeping the Lynx in the ballgame.

The Lynx bats came out hot to start the weekend, as they put up 4 runs in the third inning, led by John McNair's 3-run homer. In the fifth, sophomore Malcolm Rohlfing knocked in Gunnar Vachris to knot the score at 5 with an RBI groundout.

The seventh inning, however, was when the Lynx blew the game open. After a lengthy at-bat of spoiling a slew of 2-strike pitches, Ben Burkhart lined an RBI single to left field, scoring Dante Messina, Gunnar Vachris then singled home Burkhart from second. Malcolm Rohlfing then stepped to the plate and crushed a 3-run homer, putting the Lynx up by a score of 10-5. The Lynx scored again in the eighth, as John McNair plated Dante Messina on an RBI groundout.

Freshman William May collected his second win of the season, relieving Mick Arney and tossing 3 ⅔ innings, allowing 0 runs on only 1 hit, striking out 3.

Thomas LeMaster came in in the ninth, sealing the win for the Lynx.
