W&J 2, Grove City 1

Sante provided the dramatics in game two as W&J walked off with the victory to earn the split.

Grove City opened the scoring with a solo tally in the top of the third inning. The Wolverines held that lead all the way until the seventh inning.

W&J evened the score in the bottom of the seventh. Lutz led off the seventh with an infield hit then moved to second on a sac bunt by Zaas. Lutz then made a heads up base running play to steal third base. Sante followed with a one-out RBI single to left field to score Lutz and knot the score at 1-1.

The Presidents earned the win in the ninth when Zaas led off with a double down the right field line. Sante then delivered the game-winning hit with a RBI double off the wall that plated John Klein (Vienna, Va./Madison).

Sante finished with two runs and two RBI to lead the game two efforts.

Horvat improved to 6-2 on the season. The senior went the distance for the complete game victory. Horvat struck out six and walked none. He allowed one run on five hits. This marks the fourth time in Horvat's career that he tossed a nine-inning complete game.
