GAME 1: LYNX BATS SHOW OUT IN WIN VS WEBSTER

The Lynx were back to their high-scoring ways in game one of a split doubleheader vs Webster.

Taking the mound and getting the win for the Lynx was sophomore Noah Roland. Roland pitched 3 ⅔ innings, giving up 2 runs on 4 hits, while striking out 4. Roland was relieved by Jaxon Cady who pitched 2 innings of 1 run ball, striking out 3.

The bats got things started early with Quinn Blackman homering in the first. Then, down 2-1 in the fourth, Malcolm Rohlfing split the left-center gap with a bases-clearing, 3 RBI double, putting the Lynx up 4-2. Rohlfing then scored from second on a Peter York single. Then, in the fifth, Ben Burkart crushed a homer over the left field wall.

With the score standing at 6-3, the Lynx exploded in the eighth. Malcolm Rohlfing lined a ball into the right-center gap. The ball skipped by the glove of the diving center fielder, and Rohlfing came all the way around to score on the inside-the-park homer. Then, a Quinn Blackman RBI triple and a Dante Messina RBI single pushed the lead to a comfortable 9-3.

William May continued his excellent freshman campaign, pitching the final three innings, giving up 0 runs on 2 hits while punching out 3, and sealing the 9-3 victory for the Lynx.
