STORM LAKE, Iowa (April 11, 2023) - The Buena Vista baseball team resumed action on Tuesday night with a midweek home game against Nebraska Wesleyan. The Beavers completed the three-game season sweep of the Prairie Wolves with an 11-1 (7 inning) victory.

After winning by scores of 7-4 and 9-4 in their last meeting against Wesleyan, BVU was quick to pick up where it left off taking an early 2-0 advantage in the first inning. The runs marked just the beginning of nine straight unanswered BVU runs. NWU would not crack the run column until an RBI double in the fourth inning. It was all they would get in the contest as the Beavers added a run in the sixth before a Zack Pleggenkuhle walk off-hit by pitch in the seventh. The walk off marked BVU's fourth run-rule win in the past five games.

Starting on the mound for the Beavers was Aidan Brock. Brock earned the winning decision after pitching four solid innings where he struck out a pair and allowed just one run. The bullpen was dominant in relief of Brock. Mason Gehling compiled five strikeouts in two scoreless innings. Nolan Faber struck out two in a hitless frame.

The Beavers' lineup had another loud day at the plate, compiling 11 runs on 12 hits over seven innings. They had five different hitters compile multi-hit performances. One of those hitters was Logan Mueller. The fifth-year senior used a two-run double in the third inning to help lead the charge. He finished with game-highs of two runs, two hits, and two runs driven in.

Buena Vista runs its win streak to six straight and improves to 21-5 overall (12-1 A-R-C).

NEXT UP: BVU will take the field next on Friday, April 14 to begin its three-game weekend series against Coe College. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
