LYNX SWEEP MILLSAPS, WIN 12 OF LAST 13

More news about: Rhodes

The Lynx completed the sweep of the Millsaps Majors today on Senior Day, celebrating the 19 Seniors and 5th years that have given so much to the Rhodes Baseball Program.

After giving up 3 in the first, the Lynx countered with a towering Grand Slam off the bat of Ben Burkhart.

Then, after giving up 2 more, the Cats countered again with three more, coming from a Peter York triple, and a Quinn Blackman single.

Sophomore Mick Arney settled in after the first three innings and went on to pitch two more scoreless innings before giving way to the bullpen.

In the 4th John McNair blasted an absolute no-doubter over the right-center field wall. McNair also scored on an error in the 4th and singled in the 7th innings, plating two more runs. Also in the 7th, Sam Roffwarg knocked in another run.

It was a picture-perfect game for Senior Day festivities, as nearly every senior and fifth-year pitcher made an appearance.

First out of the pen was Andy Hanaway, who struck out the side in dominant fashion.

Next was Chayton Gray, who pitched a shutout frame.

CJ Carron entered and notched his 100th career strikeout.

Jake Templin and Brett Bokleman then also made appearances.

Lastly, Jaxon Cady tossed the final frame.

In another incredible turn of events, Senior Pitcher Jack Meyers displayed his incredible athleticism, playing the final inning in center field, and making an absolutely ridiculous catch, full sprinting and colliding with the center field wall, catching the final out of the game.
