Seahawks walk off in Game One before sweeping Huskies, 4-3 and 6-3

KINGSTON, R.I. (Sunday, March 3, 2024) - Salve Regina University senior short stop Michael Breen (Auburn, Mass.) singled through the right side to bring home classmate Brandon Grover (Ashland, Mass.) with the winning run as the Seahawks walked off with Game One, 4-3, before sweeping the three-game series with the University of Southern Maine on a 6-3 final in Game Two of Sunday's doubleheader at Bill Beck Field.

Lefty reliever Brendan Foley (Burlington, Conn.) threw one pitch in the top of the ninth of the walk off win and benefitted from the Seahawks' bottom-half heroics. Starter Joe DeRienzo (Trumbull, Conn.) went 6.2 innings in Game Two and limited the Huskies to one run on three hits while striking out seven. Kyle Carozza (Fairfield, Conn.) retired all three batters face in the ninth for his second save of the season.
